Erin Mark grew up adventuring in the wilderness with her parents. Her mom’s unexpected death put an abrupt end to her childhood outdoor experiences. She focused instead on building a successful life for herself. As an executive in the fashion industry and a vibrant former model, Erin’s used to calling the shots and taking strategic risks.
After nearly two decades of urban life, Erin’s world explorer aunt encourages her to get back out into the wilderness. On her first weekend adventure, a group backpacking trip on the remote Sioux-Hustler Trail in northern Minnesota, Erin meets Finn.
Finn is a soft-spoken Midwesterner, gentle and safety conscious despite his giant Scandinavian frame. His service trips with Engineers Without Borders instilled a love of nature, but limited outdoor skills. He joins the group hiking trip to learn more.
The disappearance of the trip leader forces Erin and Finn to work together to survive the perilous trail. Brought together by shared adversity, they form a bond despite their numerous differences.
Undeterred by the challenges they faced on the Sioux-Hustler Trail, Erin and Finn continue to seek out opportunities for adventure in the wild.
Unfortunately, Erin’s enthusiasm for the outdoors often surpasses her knowledge and skill. This leads her into situations that challenge her ingenuity, strength, and will. But things always somehow work out in the end. Is her mom looking out for her from heaven, like she promised?
